He's such a legend when it comes to Syrah and South Africa that winemaker Marc Kent has his face on the label of this Majestic exclusive blend of 85% Syrah with 9% Cabernet Sauvignon and 6% Cinsault. It's part of the small Winemaker Series of Majestic-exclusive wines, which celebrate winemakers in different New and Old World regions. Kent is famous for the wines made at Boekenhoutskloof, including the winery's famous Syrah and the cheaper but great value Syrah-dominated blend, Chocolate Block. This Rhône-like red is approachable and easy drinking, with red plum fruits, and a hint of smoky bacon. Firm and full-bodied. (Mix-six price: £8.99)
