Creation Wines, Chardonnay, Walker Bay, South Africa, 2013

From a winery founded in 2002, with vines planted at 350m on the Hemel-en-Aarde ridge, this is an elegant, cool-climate Chardonnay. It was barrel fermented with lees stirring and 25% of the wine matured for eight months in old oak. A great food wine, it shows great structure, complexity and balance, with layers of orchard fruit, baking spices and a citrus lift.
