KWV, Roodeberg Red, Western Cape, South Africa 2021

A red blend from the Western Cape driven by Shiraz (35%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (34%). A peppery nose of blackberry, dark plum plus a pinch of savoury spices. Aged partially in oak for 14 months, it's salivating and concentrated on the palate, with juicy blackberries and prunes, seasoned with star anise and wood spices. The dark fruits are balanced by ample acidity (6g/l), supported by a touch of wood tannin.
