Chris Alheit is a star on the South African winemaking scene, and makes this label for The Wine Society with grapes left over from his premium range of Chenin Blanc. It's the second vintage of the wine, and a classy buy. There's no oak influence here, just clean, tangy citrus notes (without being too overtly fruity) and a good minerality. There's a candied lemon warmth and a satisfying weight in the mouth too.
