Aged for six months in amphora after a few days of skin contact, Pepe Mendoza's take on the local tradition of 'brisat' white wines is far from being fully orange. But that maceration does bring a delightfully subtle mouthwatering touch of tannin and grip, plus a little more weight and flesh to a 100% Moscatel de Alejandría wine that ripples with waves of orange citrus and a refreshing, almost salty character on the finish – a combination that could hardly be more of its Mediterranean place.
