It may have been barrel-fermented, but this is a style that favours complexity over blatant oak flavours. It is beautifully peachy, with lifted cedar and floral notes and a touch of sweet orange zest. Sweet spices and a touch of woody vanilla round out the palate, but allow the long, juicy finish to take command. A great food wine.
