Heretat Mont Rubi, Gaintus Radical, Penedès, Spain, 2016

From vines located at an altitude in excess of 500 metres, this expression of Spanish native grape Sumoll is full of character and charm. Framboise and a touch of rusticity on the nose, and the wine really comes alive on the palate with cherryade and an almost Kriek Lambic sourness to the fruit. Incredible zip from the acidity and tannins. Bright red cherry fruit really hangs around on the finish.
