Mar de Frades, Finca Valiñas Albariño, Rías Baixas, 2015

A classic Albariño, made from a single-vineyard planted in 1975. Winemaker Paula Fandiño experiments with batonnage and barrel-ageing, and this wine spends eight months on lees in both French oak and steel, giving a textured palate that's marked by mouthwatering acidity, with zesty grapefruit, lemon and lime flavours. It's elegant and salty, with hallmark mineral crispness preceded by vibrant aromas of citrus, grass and passionfruit.
