Asda, Extra Special Rioja Reserva, Spain 2018

Spending at least 18 months in new American oak barrels then ageing in bottle for a further 24 months or so, this is a typical Reserva full of baked red fruits and spice. There's some oaky grip in the mouth and good intensity of dark, earthy hedgerow berries leading to a peppery finish.
