Aldi's Spanish label is always a reliable buy, particularly for Rioja lovers. Some may prefer the polished coconut oak veneer of the 2018 Reserva (£6.29) but the savoury, supple red berry fruitiness and gentle tannic grip of this Crianza will appeal to a broader range of palates. Perfect alongside or grilled aubergine or lamb chops.
