The first-ever fully organic wine from Rioja producer Ramón Bilbao is sourced from grapes planted at 600m in Monte Yerga. The altitude here makes it easier to farm organically, as well as adding freshness to the wine. A good value, fruit-driven style, with aromas of plums, red berries and black berries, plus a touch of spice and some gentle toasty notes from eight months in American oak. The medium-bodied palate is packed with spicy black fruit, black cherries and more plum, subtly framed by oak and with enough tannic grip for food.
