Lots of smoky toasty char on the nose, which masks the fruit a little, with some pruney and rich plum fruit coming through. But the palate is full of lifted strawberry fruit. It's juicy and with high acidity, mouthwatering and quite long. Some tannic grip, so could do with some food, and there's a mushroom and earthy undertone. Made by Baron de Ley and aged in 50% American and 50% French oak for 24 months.
