Tesco, Finest Viña del Cura Blanco, Rioja, Spain, 2022

Made for Tesco by respected Rioja name Barón de Ley, this own-label white Rioja has 10% Tempranillo Blanco in the blend, adding interest and complexity. Fruit forward on the nose with almost exotic aromas of ripe stone fruit, but also a buttery, nutty savouriness too. Some spice on the palate, and the structure from a minimum four months in American oak to make this a great food wine – I'd go for roast chicken or paella.
