Very different in style from the Glorioso Rioja Reserva – and a year older – this is benchmark old school and will appeal to those who love the more traditional creamy style of Rioja. Produced by respected producer La Rioja Alta, the wine spends two years in American oak (the first year in new oak, and the second in four-year-old barrels), and there's clear evidence of that on the nose and palate, in the sweet coconut character. You can see some evolution in the glass, but there's still a generosity of rich, deep, dark fruit to complement the creamy oak.
