Dehesa del Carrizal, Petit Verdot, Vino de Pago, Spain, 2014

Drinking Window: 2019 - 2023
A Spanish take on a French grape, this comes from a 2ha plot planted in 2006 in the 22ha Vino de Pago in Ciudad Real. Aged in 80% new French barrels for 14 months, the oak and firm tannins are evident but balanced by the weight of ripe raspberry, violet and dark mulberry fruits. A very classy, mineral-laden wine.
