Les Celliers de Vétroz, Sonata, Valais, Switzerland, 2016

A complex nose of potpourri, mushrooms and earthy spices, mixed with ripe black plums and cherries. Sour cherry juice is spiced up by vanilla, licorice, and cedar wood notes, supported by soft tannins. Ripe prunes and raisin-like notes follow to the finish. This red blend of indigenous varieties Cornalin, Humagne Rouge and Syrah is drinking nicely now.
