Leckford Estate, Brut, Hampshire, England, 2013

This blend of Champagne grape varieties is sourced from Waitrose's own five hectare farm, and fermented and aged at the famous Ridgeview estate in the South Downs. From vines planted in 2009, this sparkling wine is the third vintage. Matured on its lees for 24 months before disgorgement, the result is complex with lemon zest intensity and a biscuity aroma. Good depth and richness on the palate combines with floral notes and a green apple character, and refreshing acidity. A serious fizz, yet very youthful.
