Balfour's 2022 Pinot Noir (£22) remains an excellent buy, but its bone-dry, unoaked Chardonnay is also worth a buying to toast English winemaking. The palate is well rounded, boasting ripe yellow apples, peach blossom and crisp citrus acidity. Enjoy alfresco with a plate of primavera pasta or chicken salad.
