Incredible energy and focus. Having spent five years on its lees and several in bottle, it has a smoky, savoury and bready character while retaining elegant minerality and lifted citric acidity.

I was so impressed when I first tasted this wine that I bought several magnums. Tasting it again recently I’m feeling rather smug because it’s astonishingly good and has aged impeccably. From its old gold hue to its complex aromas of freshly baked bread, cream filled patisserie, honey and toasted hazelnuts it is utterly compelling. Poised and sensual, rich yet savoury, there is also a certain electricity here, possibly due to the magnum format.
