Named after an outlaw operating in California at the time of the gold rush, this deeply coloured red is made from vines averaging 40 years of age, from sustainable vineyards in Lodi, which is famous for its Zinfandel. Winemaker Alicia Ysias ferments this in stainless steel at cooler temperatures to preserve the freshness of fruit, and ages the wine in French and American oak. Balances concentration and freshness well, with rich and sweet black cherry and plum fruit alongside notes of chocolate, coffee and toasty oak.
