Frei Brothers, Chardonnay, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley 2017

Fantastic value while on offer at £10 between 4 and 17 December, one of Waitrose's pre-Christmas Ten at £10. Quite a rich style, but in balance. Melon and tropical fruit, with a lick of buttercream oak. The location of the vineyards in the cool-climate Russian River Valley keeps it fresh. A great buy for New World Chardonnay lovers.
