Spring Mountain Vineyard, Reserve, Napa Valley, Spring Mountain 1999

The 1999 harvest ushered in a near-perfect growing season with the best wines balanced by scintillating acidity and broad tannic structure. The 1999 bottling marked the last of the Spring Mountain Vineyard Reserve wines bottled as 'Reserve'. From 2000 onward, the name transitioned to Elivette. Aromas are lovely, with a beautiful concentration of dark black-toned fruits, deep, turned earth, and cigar box, and the wine is full-bodied and rich with ample dark fruits, crushed stones, lots of depth, and firm, structured tannins. There are even delicious chocolate notes on the long finish.
