Hillick & Hobbs, Estate Dry Riesling, Finger Lakes, Seneca Lake, New York 2019

An impressive first wine from the young vines on steep slopes on the southeast side of Seneca Lake. Winemaker Paul Hobbs' foray into the Finger Lakes results in an outstanding first wine. Aromatically complex beyond its youth, this wine offers up spice, cardamom and fresh pear. The palate is alive with Braeburn apple skin and hints of sophistication with petrol notes. There is lime zest, a steely finish that compliments a rich, waxy texture.
