History:
Château Faurie de Souchard tells its history in its name, an amalgam of the words Faurie, from the ancient name of the area (and battle site during the Hundred Years War) and Souchard, after the de Souchard family who once owned it. The estate was once part of the expansive Soutard domain, but was parcelled off as ‘Petit Faurie de Souchard’ in 1851. In 1933, it was acquired by the Jabiol family, who shortened its name in 1969. The Jabiols are direct ascendants of today’s owners, the Sciard family.
