History:

The origin of the Château’s title isn’t known for sure, though some claim the estate was named after the West Indies’ island by a rich merchant whose involvement in the Triangle Trade (slavery) took him there. What is true is that La Dominique passed through many hands – including those of the Soualle and Baillencourt families – before it was bought by civil engineer Clément Fayat in 1969. The estate, which lies close to the border with Pomerol and near Cheval Blanc, has grown considerably in reputation under Fayat’s ownership.
